The Old Trafford Test was very important for A Cook because experts were criticizing his decision not follow on the Pakistan team bu this bowlers made the match by the experts. Pakistan's most experienced middle order batsman Younas Khan who played 108 test matches was total flopped in all four innings while ODI captain also looked shaky in his all four innings. Opening Batsman Hafeez made only 40 and 42 in two innings while remaining other two innings he didn't passed the double figure. Asad Shafique was impressive in Lord's test but unimpressive at Old Trafford.
Pakistan's pace battery consist of Amir , Wahab and Rahat ali in both the matches but other than Rahat Ali both Amir and Wahab not bowled upto the required level. Wahab's competitor Woakes was the most successful bowler of both the test matches while Joe Root is the most successful batsman.
