2017 is the historic year for the PSL Emerging player Hassan Ali as after the player of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, now he declared ICC Emerging player of the year and also declared the member of the ICC ODI 2017 Team.

India’s Virat Kohli has been named as captain of the ICC Men’s Test and ODI Teams of the Year 2017, which were announced today by the International Cricket Council.

Apart from his own stellar performances across both the formats during the period between 21 September 2016 and 31 December 2017, Kohli also inspired India to the number-one and two rankings in Tests and ODIs, respectively.

This is the first time Kohli has been selected in the ICC Test Team of the Year, but fourth time after 2012, 2014 and 2016 that he has been picked in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.

Kohli is also one of four players to feature in both the Test and ODI sides, with the other three being Australia’s David Warner, Ben Stokes of England, and South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock.

Warner, Ravichandaran Ashwin, Stokes and Mitchell Starc were members of the ICC Test Team of the Year 2016, while Warner, de Kock, Kohli, AB de Villiers, Starc and Rohit Sharma have been selected for the second year running in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.

For de Villiers, this is the seventh time in eight years that he has been chosen in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.

The Test side includes three South Africans (Dean Elgar, de Kock and Kagiso Rabada), three Australians (Warner, Steve Smith and Starc), three Indians (Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin) and two Englishmen (James Anderson and Ben Stokes).

The ODI side comprises players from seven countries and is made up of one Afghanistan player (Rashid Khan), one Australian (Warner), one Englishman (Stokes), three Indians (Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah), one New Zealander (Trent Boult) two Pakistanis (Babar Azam and Hasan Ali) and two South Africans (de Villiers and de Kock).

While selecting the sides, the voting panel* took into consideration player statistics, as well as key game-changing performances during the voting period.

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Shareef inaugurated the newly built swimming pool at Nashtar Park Sports Complex after five years long long development period.

This swimming complex contains two different pools 50 and 25 meter long for men women. The registration process for the professional athletes is open now and to avail this service PSB will assist the swimmers and trainers.

Chairman PCB has new hopes for the year 2018 in which Australia and New Zealand visit to Pakistan for at least one T20 at homeland.

“We fulfill all our promises with the nation from PSL final to SL visit and will meet another in March 2018 with the visit of WI for the full series; we will invite Australia and NZ toplay at least on e T20 on our soil”. Najam Sethi said in a yearly message on PCB social media Page.

“We were Test and T20 number one and now will work hard for the number one position in ODI’s” Sethi said.

He also emphasized and wished the junior team i.e U19 for the ICC U19 World cup 2018.

“Pakistan U19 team and Senior team in NZ for ICC U19WC2018 and should perform well as per past experience, we Won ICC Champions Trophy and  U19 Team played well against Australia U19 and now against U19 NZ” Chairman PCB Said.

Pakistan Team’s first Tough tour of 5 ODI matches will start form 6^th January with first ODI, while Pakistan U19 team will take part in ICC U19WC from 13^th January.

Pakistan Senior team will visit Ireland for inaugural Test Match in may2018 than series will proceed in England.

جنوری 2017 کا پہلا سورج جب طلوع ہوا تھا تو کسی کے وہم و گما ن میں بھی نہیں تھا کہ پاکستان کرکٹ پر مارچ 2009 سے چھائی ہوئی بین القوامی بہاروں کے کالہ گھٹا یک دم چھٹ جائے گی ، اور کرکٹ کے شائیقین قذافی سٹیڈئم لاہور کے خوبصورت سٹیدئم میں اپنے پسندیدہ کرکٹرز کو کھیلتے ہوئے دیکھ سکیں گے ، کرکٹ تجزیہ کاروں ، پنڈتوں ، اور چاہنے والون کی سماعتوں سے صرف ایک جملہ بار بار ٹکرا رہا تھا جو یک نقطی دعوی پر مشتمل تھا کہ پاکستان سپر لیگ کا فائنل لاہور میں کھیلا جائے گا ، کچھ اسے بھڑک قرار دیتے تھے اور کچھ اسے بے پر کی اڑانا کہہ رہے تھے ۔ لیکن چند ایک لکھاری ، کھیل کے حواری اور کرکٹ کے پجاری یہ بھی سمجھتے تھے کہ ایسا ممکن ہے ، بات صرف لگن کی ہے اور یہ لگن نجم سیٹھی نے پاکستان سپر لیگ کے پہلے ایڈیشن میں ممکنات کی صورت میں دکھا کر سب پر دھاک بٹھا رکھی تھی انہیں لکھاریوں اور پجاریوں میں ایک راقم کا نام بھی تھے جس سے بعض اوقات قریب ترین دوست اور سنئیر سپورٹس جرنسلٹ بھی اختلاف کرتے نظر آ ئے (نام ان کی محبت کی وجہ سے نہیں لکھا جا رہا ) ، پی ایس ایل کے دوسرے ایڈیشن کو فکنسگ کے ناسور نے بھی داغدار کرنے کی کوشش کی جس کا علاج تاحال جاری ہیں ، لیکن  (پی ایس ایل ٹو کا فائنل )نہ صرف یہ بارش کا پہلا اوربھر پورقطرہ قذا فی سٹیڈئم کے میدان پر برسا بلکہ اس نے آنے والے تمام راستے بھی آ سان کر دیئے ،

پاکستان کرکٹ ٹیم جب چیمپئنز ٹرافی کھیلنے کیلئے ویسٹ انڈیز سے ایک روزہ اور ٹی ٹونٹی سیریز جیت کر انگلینڈ پہنچی اور پہلے ہی میچ میں روایتی حریف بھارت کے ہاتھوں شکست ہوئی تو میرے سمیت ہر ایک کا خیال تھا کہ اب پاکستان کرکٹ ٹیم کا چیمپئنز ٹرافی کا سفر تمام ہو چکا اور گروپ سٹیج کے بعد واپسی   طے ہے ۔ لیکن جنوبی افریقہ کے خلاف بارش رحمت کی صورت میں برسی جیسے 1992 کے آ سٹریلیا میں کھیلے جانے والے ورلڈ کپ میں انگلینڈ  کے خلاف کھیلے جانے والے میچ میں برسی تھی ، اس بارش کا برسنا تھا کہ پاکستان کرکٹ ٹیم کے کارنرڈ ٹائیگرز نے جست لگائی جس کا قسمت نے بھر پور ساتھ دیا، سری لنکا کو شکست دینے کے بعد تاریخ نے انگڑائی لی اور ناقابل شکست اور ٹورنامنٹ کی فیورٹ ترین میزبانی ٹیم انگلینڈ کے خلاف سیمی فائنل میں کامیابی حاصل ہوئی ، یہ کامیابی نہ صرف پاکستان  کی  1992 میں مارٹن کرو کی کیویز الیون کے مترادف تھی بلکہ اس نے یہ بھی طے کر دیا کہ اب روایتی حریف کے خلاف عالمی مقابلوں میں شکست کا بت بھی ٹوٹ جائے گا، سپورٹس جرنلسٹس ایسو سی ایشن کے نیشنل کرکٹ سٹیڈئم میں واقع دفتر میں صدر سجال عقیل احمد، پیارے اور  شریر دوست ثنا ء اللہ ، یوسف انجم (سہیل عمران صاحب اپنا آخری فیصلہ دے کر دفتر کیلئے نکل چکے تھے ) اور راقم موجود تھے ، عقیل صاحب کی تسبیح کے دانے چل رہے تھے اور انگلینڈ کی وکٹیں گر رہی تھی ، تب ہی راقم نے جملہ پاس کیا کہ اب پاکستان کو چیمپئنز کا چیمپئن بننے سے روکنے کیلئے  بھارت میں جنوبی افریقہ کے اے بی ڈویلئیرز بھی شامل کر دیئے جائے تو یہ ممکن نہیں ہو سکے گا ، اور پھر پوری دنیا نے دیکھا کہ پاکستان نے جیت کا ایسا سہرا سجایا کہ تاریخ کے سارے اوراق الٹ پلٹ کر رکھ دیئے ۔

اس جیت کے بعد اگلا مرحلہ اس جیت کو کیش کرنے کا تھا اور اس کیلئے ایک دفعہ پھر نجم سیٹھی کو میدان عمل میں آ نا تھا، انہوں نے نے اس موقع کو غنیمت جانا اور جائلز کلارک کے ساتھ دوستی کو سیڑھی بنا کر ورلڈ الیون کو پاکستان میں آزادی کپ کی سیریز کیلئے مدعو کر لیا، سیریز کیا تھی پوری دنیا کیلئے محبت چاہت اور کھیل سے جڑے احترام کا ایک ایسا پیغام تھا جسے ساری دنیا نے قبول کیا،، اسی موقع کو ایک دفعہ کامیابی کی سیڑھی کا اگلا زینہ بنا نا تھا جس کیلئے دو سے تین راستے تھے ، ایک تو زمبابوے کو دوبارہ سے بلا لیا جائے ، بنگلہ دیش کے ساتھ میچ  کھیلنے کی کوشش کی جائے یا پھر سری لنکا کے ساتھ طے شدہ سیریز میں سے احترام اور کرکٹ سے جڑے پیار کا خراج قذافی سٹیڈئم میں وصول کرنے کیلئے ایڑھی چوٹی کا زور لگایا جائے

نجم سیٹھی نے اس مشکل ترین فیصلے کو اپنے خواب کی تکمیل کیلئے چن لیا اور سری لنکا سے بات چیت کے بعد اکتوبر 2017 میں سیریز کا آخری ٹی ٹونٹی قذافی سٹیدئم میں کھیلا گیا، دنیا کی نظر میں یہ ایک ٹی ٹونٹی میچ تھا لیکن پاکستان کیلئے یہ میچ ایک تاریخ کا آغآز تھا جس میں وہ اندھیروں سے بھر پور پر خطر اور پر پیچ راستے  جو دشمن نے دہشت گردوں کےسا تھ مل کر مارچ 2009 میں ہموار کیئے تھے ان کا خاتمہ ہوا ، سری لنکا کے بہادر سپوتوں نے جراءت کی وہ داستان رقم کی کہ پاکستانی قوم اس احسان کو چاہے بھی تو کبھی بھلا نہیں سکے گی ، اس میچ کے کامیاب انعقاد کے بعد اگلا مرحلہ پھرکامیابی کا اگلا زینہ طے کرنا تھا جس کے لئے ویسٹ انڈیز کرکٹ بورڈ کے سر براہ ڈیود کیمرون نے مکمل ٹی ٹونٹی سیریز کیلئے نومبر کیلئے معاہد کیا لیکن موسم کی سختی آ ڑے آ گئی اور یہ سیریز اب پاکستان سپر لیگ کے تیسرے ایڈیشن کے بعد مارچ 2018 میں اسی قذا فی سٹیدئم میں کھیلی جائے گی ، جس کے بعد جنوبی افریقہسے کرکٹ کے دوستانہ تعلقات کے نئے باب کا اضا فہ بھی ہو سکتا ہے

The year 2017 was one of the golden years for Pakistan Cricket History as Green Team won the champions Trophy in Jun 2017 in England?

Pakistan Team played 18 ODI and won 12 lost 6 out of them 4 against Australia. Victories were against SL, WI, England and Arch Rival India. The Mega match was final at Oval against India but before that Pakistan Played semi final at Cardiff against England which produced the winning waves for Green Stars.

The Biggest Victory of 2017

Pakistan Team played four series in 2017 and out of these three won and lost against Australia in Australia. Pakistan played 5 ODI matches in Australian and lost four out of five. The only victory was in 2^nd match at Melbourne in which Australia got out on 220 with the contribution of Amir 3 Wickets, Junaid Khan 2 wickets, Immad Waseem 2 wickets. In chase of 221 Hafeez was the major contributor with 72 runs while the other one is Shoaib Malik 42, in result of winning inning Hafeez Declared Man of the match. The remaining three matches were not in favor of Pakistan and Green team lost the series by 4-1.Number of changes has been done before the next tour to West Indies in which Pakistan Cricket team played three ODI’s and won the series by 2-1.

The next and most important tournament for the Green team is ICC Champions Trophy and all changes were done for the preparation of mega event before WI tour so Team reached England with Winning streak.

The mega event was not well hoped for the cricket experts and in very first match result was as per wishes when Pakistan Lost to India by huge margin of 124 runs. The Next match was against South Africa and in Rain showered the favor on Green Team by 19 runs. Pakistan team also won the match by 3 Wickets against SL with the Luck, missing chances, drop catches and fielding blunders did by SL tigers in this match. Pakistan now through into the semi final, where have to face the unbeaten and favorite of the tournament as Host England at beautiful ground of Cardiff (The capital of Wales).

Pakistan won the toss and choose to bowling first and young Hassan Ali impressive performance made the Champions Trophy for Pakistan easy, Hassan Ali dismiss three top players of England Bairstow, Morgan and and Ben Stoke. Junaid Khan and Roman Raees played well supportive role with two wickets each in the inning. When the Host all out on 211 and in chase of easy target of 212, Azhar Ali as senior most member of team played an excellent inning of 76 runs, Fakhar Zaman contributed 57 runs in the opening partnership with Azhar Ali of 118 runs to consolidate the place in the final at Oval on 18^th June 2017 with 8 wickets victory.

The final match of the mega event was started at Oval with high moral of Pakistan Cricket team like wise of 1992 world cup and was played in splendid weather of London.

The sunny day of Kennington Oval, London forecasted 28 degree on the day and there were not any chance of shower (but it was throughout the tournament against the odds). The Cricket lovers was feeling so relax and enjoyable before the match. The 80 % seats of capacity of stadium were filled by the Indian community. The community, Team Blue and all their experts were confident for the India’s victory, but on the other hand the moral of the Green team was just like cornered tigers of Great Captain Imran Khan (ICC Cricket World Cup Champion’s team captain of 1992). The body language of the player’s management and coaching staff was much positive for victory over India and they proved it in the ground.

India was looking for the first bat all the time but on that day they won the toss and elected to field first, Pakistan’s opener Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman batted well with opening stand of 128 runs, the most experienced Azhar Ali  (59 on 71 balls with 6 fours and one six )not only batted himself excellently but also gave confidence to young opener Fakhar Zaman who complete his first ever ODI century in this mega Event final and wrote his name in record books (114 on 106 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes). The middle order Babar Azam 44 and Muhammad Hafeez also contribute decently 57 to set the big target of 339 runs on the score board. This is one of the best totals against India as well as the best total of grand finale.

India who was very strong in the batting started their inning with shaky start, Indian opening Batsmen on the crease and It was Muhammad Amir at first who got Wicket of Rohit Sharma on his 3^rd delivery of the Indian inning. Indian Captain Virat Kohli was the 2^nd wicket for Muhammad Amir in his spells 2^nd and innings 3^rd over. The 3^rd wicket of Shakher Dhawan in Captain Sarfraz’s gloves again grabbed by Amir in his 5^th over of the spell and innings 9^th over . It was the end of India confidence and now time for other bowlers to make their counting. 

Golden ball and player of the tournament declared Young fast bowler Hassan Ali, who was in full swing against England, repeated his performance with MS Dhoni, Bumrah and Ashwin Wickets, young spinner Shadab Khan was excellent with his fingers and got Youveraj and Yadhev’s wickets. Jadeja was caught by Babar Azam on the ball of Junaid Khan. India strong batting and their proud packed on 158/10. Pakistan victory was largest in the history of mega events finals with 180 runs and the experts choice is this match as the moment of the 2017.

PCB is planning to make fit all the players for the upcoming tour of NZ, which is much difficult because of injuries. Pakistan last ODI series was against NZ in which Amir was not played because of his new family member birth in England. Amir is back now but the two main bowlers Junaid khan and Shnwari out from the team because of injuries, Junaid who recently faced foot injury recommended not to play at least for 4 weeks by the doctors.

Therefore, Team management is in big trouble to select right combination at kiwi soil against the Black caps. Hassan Ali was also fell down in the T10 league match which was worry sign but sources from the NCA saying he is ok and nothing to worry but work load can be a fatigue if there is lack in planning persist.

Pakistan Team Coaching staff is on Charismas leaves from the last two weeks and will join team in two intervals (Dubai and in NZ) during travelling.

Azhar Ali worked hard in England and Pakistan to recover the knee injury, and now playing Quaid e Azam Trophy Final.

The middle order batsmen Sohaib Maqsood and Haris Sohail, both have come back after a long time and need more time to settled down with the mates.

Australia’s Ellyse Perry has won the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year, the International Cricket Council announced today. The award has been introduced in memory of Heyhoe Flint*, one of cricket’s legendary figures, a World Cup winner and ICC Cricket Hall of Famer, who passed in January 2017 at the age of 77.

Perry, the 27-year-old all-rounder from Sydney, scored an undefeated 213 and took three wickets in the one-off Ashes Test in Sydney and, accumulated 905 runs and took 22 wickets in 19 ODIs in the voting period**. She also scored 28 runs and bagged four wickets in four Twenty20 Internationals.

This is Perry’s maiden ICC award since becoming the youngest Australian ever to play international cricket when she debuted in 2007 before her 17^th birthday despite never having played a domestic match at the senior level.

Reacting to the news, a delighted Perry

said: “2017 has been a very special year for women’s cricket with many milestones reached, so it is a privilege and honour to receive the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award. I’d like to acknowledge the incredible work and legacy Rachael has left behind for the game, she is certainly missed. 

“A special thanks to Cricket Australia for the incredible amount of support they provide to the Australian Women’s Cricket Team and the way in which they continue to lead the development of women’s sport in Australia.

“Also, my team mates and our support staff, thanks so much for making it so enjoyable and memorable to tour and represent Australia. And finally, to my family and friends for their continued and unwavering support, it is truly appreciated.”

ICC Chief Executive David Richardson congratulated Perry,

saying: “On behalf of the ICC, I want to congratulate Ellyse for winning the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC Cricketer of the Year. This recognises the outstanding player of the year in memory of one of the true legends of the game. Rachael’s contribution to the game goes beyond the cricket field as she not only led her team to victory at the inaugural Women’s World Cup in 1973 but also played a big part in helping organise it.

“Ellyse has been outstanding during the voting period. She is a worthy winner and an inspiration and a role model for millions of young and emerging players and I’m sure Ellyse will be honoured to be the first recipient of the award.”

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Amy Satterthwaite has clinched the ICC Women’s ODI Player of the Year Award, while Perry’s team-mate Beth Mooney has won the ICC Women’s T20I Player of the Year and ICC Women’s Emerging Player of the Year awards.

Satterthwaite is the second New Zealand player after Suzie Bates to have won an ICC award. Bates was declared the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2013, while in 2015, she became the first player to win both the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year and ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year awards in the same year.

In the voting period, Satterthwaite scored 1,183 runs in 24 ODIs at an average of 84.5 with four centuries and five half-centuries, and also took 20 wickets. She beat the challenge from Perry and Alex Hartley of England, who finished second and third, respectively.

Commenting on the announcement, the 31-year-old from Christchurch said: “It is a great honour to be named as ICC Women’s ODI Player of the Year. It is a pretty special moment and I guess, probably one of the moments to look back and reflect on the year and what it has been.

“The first six months were a lot of cricket and I really enjoyed myself in the middle. Everyone talks about the four hundreds, that is something that you need situations to go in your favour to hit something like this. It was pretty special at the same time, but I have enjoyed playing my cricket in the last 12 months and really enjoyed my time with the team. I think we have a good team which is gelling together and hitting nice momentum.”

Mooney was the leading T20I scorer with 255 runs at a strike-rate of 138.5 in seven matches in the voting period, while she also scored 492 runs in 14 ODIs. In the one-off Ashes Test, she scored 27. The qualification criteria for the ICC Emerging Player of the Year was that the player had to be under the age of 26 and not have played more than six ODIs and 10 T20Is prior to the performance period.

Prior to Mooney, Sarah Taylor (2012 and 2013), Lanning (2014), Stafanie Taylor (2015) and Suzie Bates (2016) have won the ICC T20I Player of the Year award, while the ICC Emerging Player of the Year has been introduced from this year in line with the ICC’s commitment to enhancing the importance and significance of women’s cricket as well as to recognise the best performing young talent.

 

The Windies’ pair of Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor finished second and third, respectively, in the T20I Player of the Year category.

The 23-year-old, commenting on the announcement, said: “This is very unexpected and I’m honoured to receive the ICC T20I and Emerging Player of the Year awards. I play cricket to contribute to the team's success and not for personal accolades, but equally it is nice to be rewarded for all the work of the years.

“Twenty20 cricket has been adopted enthusiastically around the world and has proven to be a fantastic format for women and girls. The Rebel Women’s Big Bash League has been highly successful for Cricket Australia and personally, I benefitted from the exposure and opportunity as a player with the Brisbane Heat.

“The ICC Women’s World Cup in England was a huge event. It was disappointing for Australia but still being part of it was something that I won’t forget.”
