World of Cricket now days in deep concern about the new structure
of ICC Test and Championship, and its FTP schedule. PCB tow members delegation
who attended the Workshop in Singapore last week has briefed the Chairman PCB
about the workshop and proposed Schedule with 6 full members for ICC Test
championship and other three (Test Status Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Ireland) for
bilateral test series.
PCB Hope and Plan
PCB’s current focus on legal fight with BCCI is more than
that the bilateral series schedule with the arch rival in upcoming ICC new
structure FTP.
PCB who has England and UAE based Legal experts on board
for the concrete fight with BCCI in ICC Dispute resolution committee is confident
to take up the decision in his favor.
The previous FTP of 8 years agreement between PCB and
BCCI from 2015 to 2023, in which 6 series was scheduled and out of these four
series was to host Pakistan.
The logic behind this agreement legal fight success ratio
is not much difficult to understand
This FTP of 2015-2023 was released by ICC and before
release it’s binding for the ICC camp to get confirmation from the concerns
boards which would be with the ICC office before put it on for public.
The communication record
with both the boards of ICC office in not likes a piece of paper as said by the
BCCI officials and it will pay off a lot during the legal arguments.
ICC officially has complete record which can be called on
as evidence before the ICC Dispute resolution committee. This hope will add on
24 or more matches in favor of PCB proposed plan with the new structure of ICC
Test and ODI Cricket championships.

PCB delegation
which was consists of COO Subhan Ahmad and Usman Wahla of international cricket
department of PCB told that they proposed 121 matches in all three formats
during 2019 to 2023 other than the ICC Mega Events (ICC WT20 in Oct/Nov 2020,
ICC Champions Trophy Oct/Nov 2021, ICC WC Feb/ March 2023).
According to
proposed detail with the scriber, PCB scheduled to play 121 in all three
formats and in comparison to it South Africa (122), Sri Lanka (117), NZ (119),
Australia (123), Bangladesh (124).
ICC and ACC events will add on
PCB proposed FTP
is only for ICC New Structure of test and ODI championships and it will be more
attractive for fans and productive for PCB, when ICC and ACC event matches
added
The world T20
scheduled to be in Oct/Nov 2020, ICC Champions Trophy Oct/Nov 2021 and ICC CW
2023.
*Similarly Asia
Cup matches and right to select an independent bilateral Series with any of the
ICC member country can also an option for PCB to add more.
*PCB also in
discussion with Ireland for full tour to Pakistan (Lahore and Karachi) in
return of First test match with Ireland (after getting test status) in Ireland.
*PCB also want
to portrait the full cooperation and peaceful process of International cricket
back in Pakistan with all FTP matches to play at homeland with subject to
security.
PSL permanent window
the problem persist
Whereas the
more option for PCB to generate quality cricket with ICC member countries and
financial benefits as compared to previous schedules and own brand Pakistan
Super league, there is a problem to keep permanent window for PSL from 2019 to
2023.
There is mega
event of ICC WC2023 during this window and PCB need to change schedule for PSL
in 2023 but also to maintain permanent slot available to dedicate at least 6
weeks each year which will cost loss of 4 test matches or a full series of 5
ODI’s and # T20’s.
The Final
decision time of New FTP
The current
month workshop on future tour program as per ICC new Structure of Test and ODI
leagues, and in result the proposed FTP with further amendments will put on Feb
2018 meeting notes of ICC and then will approve by ICC June 2018 meeting.
The Results of
the Scheduling work shop will be further deliberated at the Chief Executives
Committee which will then put up a recommendation to the ICC BOG for approval.
Until such time as the Board takes the matter up at its meeting the current FTP
stands.
